  1. Myth: Lawyers can mediate instead. Some believe lawyers' negotiation skills suffice, rendering mediators unnecessary. However, dedicated mediators offer impartial guidance, preventing emotional manipulation and fostering creative solutions.

  2. Myth: Mediation requires complete settlement. Complex or acrimonious disputes are deemed unsuitable for mediation. Yet, mediation often yields surprising and partial resolutions, refocusing disputes and offering progress.

  3. Myth: Mediators show gender bias. There's a misconception that mediators favour one gender over the other. In reality, mediators remain neutral, facilitating fair negotiations regardless of gender.
